Volunteer work in patient care

Do something for and with people?

We are looking for you to volunteer at the Helios Park-Klinikum Leipzig.

They can be deployed as desired: on day duty as a patient guide (m/f/d) or on ward / night duty in the night café.

• You will have one-on-one conversations with patients about wishes and concerns
• You take patients on walks or you do small shopping
• Read aloud, play, do handicrafts, puzzle with the patients and simply be there for them
• Cognitive and movement exercises (fine and gross motor skills, exercises for everyday use)
• Work as a patient guide (accompany patients on the day of admission)

• They are empathetic and can listen
• Interest in volunteering
• Willingness to exchange ideas with other people
• Legally required proof of immunization against measles

• Induction training (basic medical knowledge with on-site training)
• Annual further training for employees: hygiene, resuscitation, refresher of voluntary knowledge regarding clinical pictures, socio-legal background (=Helios volunteer training)
• Reimbursement of travel expenses / expense allowance by individual arrangement
• Participation in summer party, Christmas party, station parties
• 2-3 times a year supervision appointments and exchange of experience by experts on site

Possible areas of application are:

on the day on the ward - by individual arrangement with the ward

as a pilot: 7:30-11 a.m.

in the night café from 7-11:00 p.m. or from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
