Training as a surgical assistant (m/f/d) – OTA

On 01.09. of each year, we are looking for an apprentice as a surgical assistant (m/f/d) – OTA.

• The training is based on the nationwide ATA-OTA Act in the current version as well as the associated training and examination ordinance
• In total, the training includes 2,100 hours of instruction at the Helios Training Center Plauen as well as at least 2,500 hours of practical assignments in mandatory and optional departments of the respective clinics
• Preparation of operations, including provision and control of instrument screens and materials
• Instrumentation during surgical procedures
• Safe handling of medical equipment
• Interdisciplinary cooperation and careful documentation of surgical procedures

• School leaving certificate: Secondary school leaving certificate or secondary school leaving certificate with two years of vocational training or professional license as a nursing assistant (m/f/d)
• Good academic performance, especially in science subjects
• Health suitability (medical certificate)
• Parental consent for applicants under the age of 18
• Desirable: Internship in the operating room or on a surgical ward; technical understanding as well as physical and mental resilience
• Personal skills: ability to work in a team, sense of responsibility and order, as well as legally required measles vaccination certificate

• A maximum weekly working time of 38.5 hours
• Attractive training remuneration: 1st year: €1,548.90, 2nd year: €1,600.65, 3rd year: €1,817.08
