What to expect

As an occupational therapist (m/f/d), you will analyze the current situation of your patients and apply targeted methods and concepts to promote, improve or restore functional and movement changes. You are an essential part of rehabilitation after injuries and illnesses
The training is divided into theoretical and practical phases and comprises a total of 4,400 hours
Theory with practical relevance: In 2,700 hours at Semper Schule Dresden, you will acquire in-depth knowledge in areas such as anatomy, psychology, occupational therapy basics and medical terminology
Diverse practical experience: 1,700 hours of practical training in various areas such as psychosocial, motor-functional, neurophysiological and occupational therapy
Variety of applications: You will learn how to support people of all ages – from children to seniors – in their independence
Competence development: You will acquire skills in the application of therapeutic procedures, aids and creative techniques
Graduation with perspective: The training ends with the exams – if you successfully complete it, we offer you the opportunity to take on

What you bring to the table

School-leaving certificate: Secondary school leaving certificate or higher (e.g. Abitur) or lower secondary school leaving certificate with completed vocational training of at least two years
Communication skills & empathy: You approach people openly, listen actively and can express yourself empathetically - both in conversation and in non-verbal communication
Team spirit and a sense of responsibility: You enjoy working in a team, take responsibility for your tasks and show commitment to the well-being of your fellow human beings
Joy of movement & creativity: You enjoy exercise, are creative in the design of therapy units and like to develop new ideas for the support of your patients
Openness & willingness to learn: You are curious, open to new experiences and willing to continuously develop yourself in order to provide the best possible support for your patients
In addition , you have German language skills at B2 level, health suitability (medical proof required), an extended certificate of good conduct and proof of vaccination against measles
